Raffaella Di Marzio

Last wednesday, 15 Oct, in Bangladesh, during an important hindu religious celebration, devotees were attacked and several temples were devastated.

Among those temples, one in Noakhali that belong to the Hare Krishna Movement, where Partha dasa a 25 years old Krishna's devotee, lost his life during the attacks, and others were hospitalized in desperate conditions.

During the 2021 Durga puja celebrations in Bangladesh, a group of extremists have brutally attacked the Hindu community. Even the Hare Krishna temple in Noakhali was devastated, the murti (statue) of Shrila Prabhupada and the Ratha yatra carriage was burned. Tragically, Partha das, a young devotee, was killed and others recovered at the hospital in severe conditions. ISKCON leaders are considering how to proceed without fueling the existing tensions between India, Pakistan and Bangladesh in order to try to avoid a spiraling of violence.
Let us all pray together for the protection of our devotees and all the innocent people in that area. Hare Krishna

In that country religious intolerance is increasing and there is a continuous escalation of violence despite the government states that it is committed to ensuring peace and security for all.
