Our activities: to spread correct information, to study different spiritual. religious, non-religious and atheist associations, to defend  human rights of minorities.


INFORMATION

The association is committed to disseminate correct and accurate information, in order to counteract to general information which is often incorrect or deliberately false, especially at the cost of individuals or groups, who profess forms of beliefs and practices other than those of the majority

STUDY

The association is committed to study, with the help of qualified Research Centers and Universities, the various forms of groups as defined above, in order to improve the scientific level of knowledge of these realities. Scientific knowledge is indispensable for the prevention of and the contrast to various forms of discrimination and labeling that occur against both, religious, and non-religious minorities alike.

AWARENESS PROJECT

“Awareness” Project is dedicated to the study of religious and spiritual minorities in Italy and elsewhere. LIREC organizes conferences and debates on religious minorities in order to promote their knowledge among general public, media and academic world. The Project launches a series of events to promote the awareness of the various religious and spiritual minorities  which, far from being dangerous groups, as a certain propaganda want to make us believe, can also be socially, culturally and economically resourceful to our society.

European Academy of Religion Annual Conference - Bologna,  March 5-8,  2018

The  Center for Studies on Freedom of Religion Belief and Conscience (LIREC) has successfully completed the first program of the “Awareness” Project. On March 6, 2018 the Center for Studies on Freedom of Religion, Belief and Conscience (LIREC) organized the panel n. 63 at the Annual Conference of the European Academy or Religion.

TITLE: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Movement: "Love for all, Hatred for none". An Islam of peace suppressed and persecuted in the Islamic World.

Voices about freedom of religion and belief  is the online Journal and the digital library of the Center for Studies LIREC.

Raffaella Di Marzio and Camillo Maffia created it in September 2016.  Voices about freedom of religion and belief is the continuation of the commitment spent for years in the same direction: the defence of human rights, the promotion of religious dialogue, and the spread of fair information on complex and delicate themes like freedom of religion and belief.

On August 3, 2017 this “virtual” agorà has turned into a “real” one, giving life to the new Association, the Center for Studies on Freedom of Religion Belief and Conscience (LIREC)

The association is commited to work actively with institutions, the media and any accountable authority or organization, to defend, by all means, that the democratic society provides citizens the rights of minorities as enshrined in the Italian Constitution.
